Writing Resolutions for 2011

Dear bloggie friends:
This is my last blog for 2010 and I am determined to be a productive blogger in 2011.

I usually don't make any new year's resolutions because they have some sort of negative connotation for me. However, I decided to have feasible writing resolutions. If I write them, I can visualize them. They become more real. Here they are (in no particular order):
  • Post at least once a week.
  • Finish my anthology.
  • Continue attending my writing group meetings.
  • Attend two literary events per month (at least, if not more).
What about you? Have you made some resolutions with regards to writing, blogging, or reading?
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  1. Wishing you best of luck achieving your goals for 2011 -- you can do it!

My blogging goal is still to post once a week, because so far that's been working out for me with my busy schedule. As for writing, I'm determined to get one particular manuscript as polished as possible while simultaneously finishing the first draft of another. We'll see how it goes.

    Happy New Year!

  2. Hi Shelley,
Thanks for your wishes! Yes, I think posting once a week is feasible and a realistic goal for me. I've been busy with other projects so I don't have much time to be posting three times a week. I wish you a productive year in your writing. See you in 2011.
    Happy New Year!

  3. Good luck with your resolutions.

Mine are to post blog entries at least once a week, to market my two upcoming novels so they could become bestsellers (that would be great) and to write as much/publish as much as I can.

  4. Hi Angelina,
Thanks! WOW! can't believe you have two finished novels. I wish you good luck marketing them. I think if you get an agent or network with the right people, your novels could become a big hit. Start with Facebook, Twitter, Blog, local libraries, local bookstores, etc.
    Happy New Year!

  8. AAWWWW! You're a doll, Old Kitty. Thanks for your kind words. Keeping focused on one's goals is no easy task but, if you want results...
I know you have it in you. Everyone does. Set some doable short term goals and you'll see it's as easy as taking Charlie's pics. ;)
Have a wonderful New Year's Eve!
    I'll see you next year.

  9. Great list, Claudia! I think it's really important when setting goals to make sure that they are specific, measureable, and attainable.

I haven't set my 2011 goals yet, but I will as soon as everyone goes back to school and work...

Have a safe and Happy New Year, Claudia!

  10. Hi Sharon,
Glad to hear I'm not the only setting goals...I know it sounds cliché but we're creatures of habit ;)
Have a lovely New Year's Eve and I'll see you in 2011 in blogland.

  11. If my resolution was to be more organized I'm already failing. But I'm working on it.

  12. When I was an undergraduate I took my first writing workshop, and I admit I was one of "those" writers. I took offense to the critiques. Now, I've been through countless workshops and I'm much better. I actually welcome critiques because I realized that it's not an attack on me and that they ultimately make my work stronger.

  13. Hi Racquel,
Welcome to my blog! Like you, I took it personal at first. Then I realized it was nothing against my person but my work. I started listening and accepting. I've learned a lot since then. Thank you for joining!
